Sabrina Carpenter Shines in Hometown Performance
Sabrina Carpenter brought hometown pride to the stage in Philadelphia, making a statement in style during her Short n' Sweet Tour. On Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center, Carpenter stepped out in a sparkling Philadelphia Phillies jersey, personalized with her name and the playful number 69 on the back. The pop star delighted fans while performing her hit song "Espresso," paying homage to her roots with a nod to the Phillies.
In her Instagram Stories before the performance, Carpenter expressed her excitement, saying, "Hometown show!!! I can’t believe I played the arena I grew up going to." Raised in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, just 40 miles from Philadelphia, Carpenter’s connection to the city was clear, and her Phillies-themed attire was a perfect fit. The timing of her show also coincided with the Phillies competing in the National League Division Series against the New York Mets, although the Phillies' season ended the next day on Oct. 9.
Carpenter's Short n' Sweet Tour has been a massive success, with her album continuing to dominate the charts. The LP, featuring fan favorites like "Please Please Please," "Espresso," and "Taste," is her first album to reach No. 1 and has sold over 362,000 equivalent album units in its debut week.
The Short n' Sweet Tour continues across North America, with stops in major cities such as Montreal, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Dallas, Vancouver, Seattle, San Diego, and Phoenix, wrapping up on Nov. 15 at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena.
