Travis Barker’s 18-Year-Old Daughter Alabama Says She’s Not ‘Educated’ Enough to Vote: ‘If I Don’t Want to Vote, I Don’t Have to Vote’

Alabama Barker Shares Her Thoughts on Voting

Alabama Barker, the 18-year-old daughter of musician Travis Barker, recently went live on social media and shared her candid thoughts about voting. Despite now being old enough to vote, Alabama revealed she doesn’t feel the need to participate in the upcoming election. “Not voting isn’t crazy in my opinion at all, because if I don’t feel like I have the exact education for what I’m voting for, how is it right to vote on something I’m not completely educated on?” she explained during her livestream. “I could educate myself, but why would I do that if I genuinely don’t care? I’m just honest.”

She further elaborated, “I don’t care to vote if I don’t know exactly what’s going on. I don’t think that’s wrong, and I completely stand by it because, first of all, I just turned 18 and I’ve never voted before. If I don’t want to vote, I don’t have to vote. If I don’t want to be in politics, I don’t have to be in politics.”

While she expressed indifference toward voting, Alabama did admit that she has formed opinions on what she believes is right, based on her observations. However, she did not specify which political candidate she was referring to, simply stating that “one of the [candidates] is just a mess.”

Though Alabama Barker isn’t interested in voting, many celebrities have been vocal about their support for different candidates. Bruce Springsteen has recently thrown his support behind Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, joining a long list of celebrities including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Stevie Nicks, Cardi B, Jason Isbell, John Legend, and Katy Perry.

On the other side, artists like Jason Aldean, Kid Rock, Kanye West, and Sexyy Red have voiced their support for Republican candidate Donald Trump in this year’s election.
