 Two days after being shot multiple times while walking his dog in Las Vegas, former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee shared that he is “one lucky motherf–ker.” In a text exchange with D.J. Ashba, former guitarist for Guns N’ Roses and Sixx

Lee, 67, was shot three times early Tuesday morning, around 2:40 a.m., about 10 miles from the Las Vegas strip. He was reportedly out walking his dog when the attack occurred. Fortunately, he was fully conscious while being treated in the intensive care unit. In a message to Ashba, Lee said, “Doing surprisingly well. I am one lucky mother f–ker. Just make sure your bday bash is wheelchair accessible! Just jestin’.” Ashba responded with relief, writing, “So fn thankful you’re ok!”

According to the police, the shooting was not targeted and appears to be a random street crime. Authorities are still investigating the incident, and no arrests have been made so far.

In a statement, a publicist for Lee confirmed that the guitarist is “fully conscious and doing well” and is expected to recover. They emphasized that the incident was random and asked for privacy as the investigation continues.

Ozzy Osbourne, who hasn’t seen Lee in 37 years, also shared his concern. “It’s just another senseless act of gun violence,” Osbourne said, sending his thoughts to Lee and his daughter, Jade. “I just hope he’ll be okay.”

Jake E. Lee joined Osbourne's band from 1982 to 1987 following the tragic death of guitarist Randy Rhoads. Lee played on the albums Bark at the Moon (1983) and The Ultimate Sin (1986). He later formed the band Badlands and released solo albums Retraced and Guitar Warrior in 2005 and 2007. After a brief hiatus from the music industry, Lee returned with the band Red Dragon Cartel, releasing albums in 2013 and 2018.

This incident adds another chapter to Lee’s storied career, but with his recovery progressing well, fans are hopeful for his return to full health.
